Hydrographic Surveying

SHA gathers and communicates geospatial data not only on land and in the air, but also underwater. Hydrographic surveying is a specialty service that our personnel have field-proven expertise in. We use a small flat-bottomed boat equipped with a single or multibeam echosounder, an RTK GPS system (corrects for heave, pitch, and tides), and HYPACK software to collect data on underwater surfaces and objects. Applications for hydrographic surveying include marine construction, port and channel conditions, pre- and post-dredge surveys, bathymetric surveys, marina and harbor conditions, beach erosion surveys, foundation scour assessments, underwater object detection, and emergency and disaster surveys. We also offer side scanning sonar using a towfish.
